2 Suspects at Large in Local Murder

Last night we woke to a horrible noise. It was 2 cats that amazingly made their way up our lattice patio cover, tip-toed around the 1 x 1s and attacked our nesting doves. They also broke the plexiglass that was placed over the outdoor speakers. If I catch them, I'll take them to the pound. The first two photos are what's left of the dove family. The nest is empty.

You know, I hate people that keep outdoor cats. So if you are one of these people, let me tell you how inconsiderate you are: In addition to the risk to the cats themselves for infections and injury, they spray people's tires with their urine, they leave their stinky, toxoplasmosis laden poop in our garden and terrorize innocent birds. At least educate yourself.

I love cats and have 4. They are indoor cats.

Here is a photo of the murdered family, 2 days ago, during shift change.

Carey or Goebel?

I've been doing research on my father's family. After posting this website, I've attracted new cousin-friends that have sent family stories, trees and photos. I discover something new everyday...i.e. while most of this side of the family were farmers my great grandfather was in real estate.

This is more fun that Myst.

Good Parents

I've been watching this dove (and it's mate) nesting on top of my patio cover. I watch the shift-change in the morning and see them take turns sitting for hours in the rain, wind and hail. My cats, four of them, line up-pressed against the bedroom window that looks out over the nesting spot. There's a bluejay that lurks as well...but these birds hang in there, warming their little clutch. The eggs hatched yesterday, but they still sit. I'm so impressed.

Ellis the Parrot

I have 4 cats now; 1 cat short of being the official neighborhood cat lady...or is it 2 cats short.?..I can never remember!

This one is named Ellis Marie, she climbs right up on my shoulder when I'm at the computer. I should get her to stand on my head so I can work on my posture.

Benjamin Disraeli

Too bad he's dead. Based on his quotes, I really like him. Then I discovered that he married a woman quite a few years his senior for money. He admitted it. I wonder what today's politcal commentators would say about him.

Along with the rest of his family, he was baptized Anglican just before his Bar Mitzvah. I wonder what he would have done if he remained a Jew. Of course he was always a Jew... you know what I mean.

Here are a few quotes:

"The magic of first love is our ignorance that it can ever end."
"There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics."
"How much easier it is to be critical than to be correct. "

~Benjamin Disraeli

Do people still have death masks created? I know pregnant women get casts of their big tummies.

Marriage anon

If you don't care what your husband does, which some would call perfect (healthy) detachment...then you probably don't like him. At least, you don't need him, so why be married? Money? Sex? But who wants to have sex with someone your don't need or like? Must be the money....na-I can make money, it's the food.
